Terms of Service

Welcome to ShadowGuard (accessible via our website). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of ShadowGuard ("we", "us", or "our"), an AI-powered video scanning service designed to analyze content for potential algorithmic restrictions.

By registering an account or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use ShadowGuard.

1. Account Registration and Security

  • You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum legal age in your country) to use this service.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials (managed via Supabase Auth).
  • You accept full responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.

2. Credit System and Payments

  • ShadowGuard operates on a pay-as-you-go credit model. One (1) credit equals one (1) full video scan.
  • All payments are securely processed by our Merchant of Record, Paddle. By purchasing credits, you agree to Paddle's terms and conditions.
  • Purchased credits do not expire and will remain in your account balance until used, as long as your account remains active.

3. Refund Policy

Our refund policy is strict due to the digital nature of our service and the immediate server costs associated with AI processing:

  • Unused Credit Packages: You are eligible for a full refund within 14 days of purchase ONLY if the purchased credit package remains completely untouched (your credit balance has not decreased since the transaction).
  • Used Credit Packages: Once you use even a single (1) credit from a purchased package, the entire package becomes strictly non-refundable.
  • To request a refund for an unused package, contact us at support@getshadowguard.com.

4. Acceptable Use of the Service

You agree NOT to use ShadowGuard to:

  • Upload or process content that violates local, national, or international laws.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, exploit, or disrupt our backend infrastructure, API, or proxy servers.
  • Automate scans using unauthorized bots or scripts outside of any officially provided APIs.

5. Intellectual Property

  • Your Content: You retain 100% ownership of any video files or frames processed through our system. ShadowGuard does not claim any rights over your content.
  • Our Service: The code, design, branding, logo, and AI implementation of ShadowGuard are the exclusive property of ShadowGuard and are protected by copyright laws.

6. Limitation of Liability

ShadowGuard provides risk assessments based on AI models. Social media algorithms (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube) change frequently. We do not guarantee that a video flagged as "safe" by our tool will never be moderated, muted, or shadowbanned by third-party platforms. ShadowGuard is not liable for any loss of views, account bans, or financial damages resulting from your use of the service.

7. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ukraine, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the competent courts of Ukraine.
